Terms of Service - iBuildMyCV

1. Purpose

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern access to and use of the iBuildMyCV website and application (the “Service”), operated by Eytan, based in France (“we”, “us”).

By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

2. Description of the Service

iBuildMyCV is an online tool to create, customize, and export resumes/CVs as PDF files. The Service is available via web browser (no native mobile app).

Plans (see our pricing page) - all paid plans are one-time purchases (no subscription, no automatic renewal):

Passes are stackable: buying a new pass extends your current Premium access.

Legacy subscriptions: monthly and annual subscriptions purchased before this pricing change remain governed by their original terms (automatic renewal until cancelled) and can be cancelled at any time as described in Section 5.

We may modify features or pricing. Changes do not affect passes already purchased.

3. Account

An account is required for most features. You agree to:

  • provide accurate information;
  • keep your credentials confidential;
  • notify us if you suspect unauthorized access.

You must be at least 16 years old, or have permission from a parent or legal guardian.

You may sign in with email/password or Google OAuth, where available.

4. Payment, Billing, and Dodo Payments

Payments are processed by Dodo Payments (“Dodo Payments”), our Merchant of Record:

  • Dodo Payments is the legal seller for purchases on iBuildMyCV; your purchase contract is with Dodo Payments under their Buyer Terms.
  • Dodo Payments collects payment, issues invoices/receipts, and handles applicable VAT/sales tax.
  • Dodo Payments is the primary contact for billing disputes and refund processing (see our Refund Policy).

iBuildMyCV is responsible for delivering the Service (feature access, PDF export, etc.).

Digital content: Premium plans provide digital content not supplied on a tangible medium. By activating a paid plan, you request immediate performance and acknowledge that your right of withdrawal may be lost once Premium access begins, as permitted under applicable law on digital content.

Prices are shown on the pricing page before checkout. All passes are one-time payments: nothing renews automatically and there is nothing to cancel.

5. Cancellations

Passes (24-hour, 7-day, 30-day): one-time purchases; no recurring billing, no cancellation needed. Access simply ends when the pass expires.

Legacy monthly and annual subscriptions (no longer sold): you may cancel so that renewal stops at the end of the current billing period. To cancel, contact contact@ibuildmycv.com or use the Dodo Payments customer portal / buyer support (link on your invoice/receipt). Access continues until the end of the paid period unless otherwise stated in our Refund Policy.

6. Your Content

Your resume content belongs to you. You grant us a limited license to host, process, and display it solely to operate the Service.

You must not upload unlawful, misleading, or harmful content, or content that infringes third-party rights.

7. Our Intellectual Property

Templates, layouts, fonts, software, branding, and other materials provided by iBuildMyCV remain our property or our licensors’. You receive only a limited right to use them within the Service.

8. Availability

We aim for high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. Maintenance, updates, or outages may occur.

9. Account Deletion

To delete your account and associated resume data, use Delete my account in Account settings, or email contact@ibuildmycv.com from your registered address. Deletion is processed promptly (or within 30 days if requested by email), subject to legal retention requirements (e.g. billing records held by Dodo Payments).

10. Termination by Us

We may suspend or terminate access if you violate these Terms, abuse the Service, or where required by law.

11. Limitation of Liability

The Service is provided “as is” to the extent permitted by law. We are not liable for indirect or consequential damages. We are not responsible for the accuracy of content you enter in your resume or for outcomes of using an exported CV.

Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable consumer protection law.

12. Governing Law and Disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of France. Disputes shall be submitted to the competent courts in France, without prejudice to mandatory consumer protection rules in your country of residence (including, where applicable, EU consumers’ rights to bring claims in their country of residence).
